    Hey Dezz,

I saw a video you posted about gain staging, but I noticed that in the mix lessons videos you do not talk about gain staging. Is this something you incorporated after you made those videos, or is gain staging something you don’t always do? Btw I’m currently working on week 7 of the mix lessons video, so maybe I haven’t gotten far enough into the course, but I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Gain staging is always involved in some fashion or another. You might be referring to the video I shared about maintaining headroom in your mix. If so, that’s not something I always do but is a handy trick to use if you have a dense mix that is overloading your stereo bus.

The video I mentioned was in the multi dimensional mixing section of the site. It’s supposed to accompany your e-book. I should have been more specific in my initial post. My apologies. I applied this tip to my mix of “Lovin Me” and it did help with the overload in the master/stereo bus. It’s something I’ve struggled with and never knew what to do about it, so I thank you sir.
