I was just going through the vide in Week 3 – Mixing the rhythm section; Drums & Bass. At 0:24 you used a gate on the kick, and not a compressor. I was just curious to know why.

I am especially enjoying the latest episode which analyzes each of the elements in the mix. Gonna give it another listen on mys studio monitors (as opposed to in my car) to really hear what's going on in the mix. Well done!
