My very first mix

Hello everyone,

I just finished week 8 of mix lessons and I’ve finished mixing “Loving Me”. I have been using DAWs to record my own music for many years, but never properly “mixed” a song. Up until I started listening to Dezz’s podcast and subsequently signed up to the tech muze academy I really had no idea how to use all the tools and plug-ins at my disposal. I now feel like I have a solid foundation on which to build on. I would really appreciate feedback on this. Thank you in advanced.

Wow! Sounding great Brother! I’m just listening on my laptop speakers but you’ve got a nice balance going on here. The only thing that really grabs my ear wrong is the hi-hat. It’s a bit much. In fact, I think I ended up muting it out altogether in my later mixes of this song. Great work! I like where you placed those male backing vocals at the end. 🙂

wow thank you so much for the feedback Dezz. I did think it sounded pretty ok overall, but your response has blown me away. I will definitely try muting the high hats. Thanks again.
